The Port Hawkesbury and Richmond County Joint Industrial Park represents a collaborative effort between two municipalities to foster economic growth and development in the Strait of Canso region. Spanning across Richmond County and the town of Port Hawkesbury, this park offers a diverse range of industrial opportunities, from heavy manufacturing to light industry. The Park provides businesses with the infrastructure and support needed to thrive in today’s competitive market.

Mulgrave Marine Industrial Park
Mulgrave Marine Industrial Park is a specialized hub for maritime-related industries in the Strait of Canso region. Situated along the southern shore of the Strait, this Park offers unparalleled access to marine transportation routes and offshore resources. Catering to shipbuilding, repair, and marine services, the Park boasts state-of-the-art facilities and a skilled workforce trained in maritime trades. Its strategic location and supportive business environment make it an ideal destination for businesses seeking to capitalize on the region’s rich maritime heritage and economic opportunities.
The 45-acre park currently has 28 acres developed (23 occupied) and an additional 17 acres to be developed. The Town of Mulgrave provides streets, water (6 inch main; 14,000 gpd/acre of an occupied lot) and waste water services to the park, as well as snow removal for the park roads. Nova Scotia Power provides electrical power to the park via a 25 KV circuit along route 344.

Melford Industrial Land Reserve
The Melford Industrial Land Reserve is a 14,500 acre industrial-zoned park located on the Strait of Canso, a sheltered, deepwater, ice-free port with water depths in excess of 90 feet within 100 feet from the shore.
